IFAMA was formed to stimulate strategic thinking across the full spectrum of the global food system. Today, IFAMA is an effective worldwide networking organization acting as a bridge between the agribusiness industry, researchers, educators, government, consumer groups and non-governmental organizations.

IFAMA is volunteer driven and provides the following ongoing opportunities: IFAMA Chapters, meet throughout the year to discuss food and agribusiness issues important to their particular local cities, regions, countries or hemisphere. Chapters are currently active in the United States Mid-West Region, Africa, and Europe (IFAMA Europe).
Through its conference programs, publications and ongoing initiatives, IFAMA provides opportunities for professional development for even the most experienced members. However, what makes IFAMA distinct is its focus on the professional growth of the food and agribusiness students who belong to IFAMA.
IFAMA’s primary activities include the publication of a top--ranked journal, the International Food and Agribusiness Management Review (IFAMR) a top-ranked journal published 6 times a year and the IFAMA Annual World Conference, which features a Student Case Competition, Academic Symposium and World Forum where industry, scholars and students gather to discuss seminal issues in food and agribusiness management.
