Jon H. Hanf
Interests: Marketing, strategic management, and value chain management focusing on transition economies and the wine business
Biography
In 2010 Jon Hanf was appointed at the University of Geisenheim as a Full-Professor. Additionally, he is currently the Head of all Wine Business Study Programs of Geisenheim University comprising the bachelor programs ‘International Wine Business’ as well as ‘Internationale Weinwirtschaft’ and the master program ‘Weinwirtschaft’.
Jon has published over 150 peer reviewed articles in books, conference proceedings, and peer reviewed journals. In the context of transition countries and agricultural value chains he also conducted several research and consultancy projects funded the German Research Society (DFG), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and the World Bank.
Education
He obtained his doctorate as well as his habilitation at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen.
Research Interests
Agri-food policies, international trade, strategic management, rural economy, sustainability development.
