 Global Business Forum

The capstone event of IFAMA conferences includes a 2-Day Business Forum featuring hot-topic discussions from high-level industry speakers, breakout panels, action-oriented workshops, Innovative exhibits, and cross-sector networking. You’ll meet experts and colleagues from around the world who are addressing the most pressing challenges facing the food and agribusiness sector today. It is a rare venue that brings together top thought leaders, policy makers, and academia who create a cross-pollination of ideas and share vital solutions.

 Academic Symposium

The Academic Symposium provides the intellectual foundation and scientific creditability for the discussions that will follow during the Business Forum. The IFAMA 2025 World Conference begins with a two-day Academic Symposium. Scholars are invited to share new research and teaching case studies with colleagues from academia, industry, NGOs and government. Submitted papers undergo a blind peer-review vetted by the Symposium Review Committee. Extended abstracts and full papers are due no later than 13 January, 2025. Authors submitting quality and novel research will be invited to publish their papers in the International Food and Agribusiness Management Review — IFAMA's flagship journal of food and agribusiness management. View the Call for Papers.

Two key components of the Academic Symposium are the Teaching Case Conference and the Best Paper Competition. The Best Paper Competition recognizes research that distinctively rises above the standard criteria for symposium presentations. See the Best Paper Competition Guidelines here.

The Case Conference showcases best practices in case study writing, teaching, and learning to facilitate problem-solving and transfer knowledge for the next generation of agri-food management talent. Academics, professors and industry leaders are invited to submit teaching case study proposals for participation in the IFAMA 2025 World Conference. Details here.

 Student Case Competition

IFAMA actively attracts young talent to food and ag sector as we know that the future of feeding people on the planet rests in the hands of the next generation. During IFAMA’s congress, several key activities are offered that encourage network building, career development, employment opportunities, and mentorship.

For 20 years, IFAMA has hosted a renowned Student Case Competition for students, graduate, and early career professionals who are pursuing careers in the food and agribusiness sector—establishing itself as the leading world championship competition.

Teams consisting of 3–5 members are tasked with analyzing a complex business case about a current real-world problem impacting the food and ag sector. The competition challenges teams to develop a creative, practical, and strategic plan, then design a presentation that clearly communicates their analyses and recommendations before a panel of judges. This competition provides an unparalleled experience in developing and showcasing emerging talent. More information coming soon.
