Undergrad Agribusiness Degree
Program Description
Olds College, in Olds, Alberta, Canada, provides career and job training at the diploma and degree level in agriculture and business. The two-year Agricultural Business Diploma Program develops basic and advanced business management practices, improves marketing abilities, reviews fundamentals of agricultural production, strengthens human relations skills and offers a wide variety of other courses to provide a balanced educational program. Although knowledge of farming techniques is helpful, you need not have a farming background to enter this program. The courses are geared primarily to business applications. While the primary purpose of the program is to prepare the learner to enter a career in agribusiness directly upon graduation, many graduates have chosen to pursue a university degree following completion of the Diploma. While various universities, including the University of Alberta, will grant partial credit for the courses taken at Olds College, the University of Lethbridge and Athabasca University recognize the full two years of the program toward the completion of some of their four-year degrees.
