About the IFAMR Journal

The International Food and Agribusiness Management Review (IFAMR) is an online and Open Access intellectual meeting place for industry executives, managers, scholars and practitioners interested in the effective management of agribusiness firms and organizations operating in the global food system. It is internationally recognized as a catalyst for discussion and inquiry for those interested in the food and agribusiness system. Specifically we seek articles that are relevant to management scholars and/or managers.

The core values of the Review are as follows: excellent academic contributions; fast, thorough, and detailed peer reviews; building human capital through the development of good writing skills in scholars and students; broad international representation among authors, editors, and reviewers; a showcase for IFAMA’s unique industry-scholar relationship, and a facilitator of international debate, networking, and research in agribusiness.

The Review welcomes scholarly articles on business, economics, public policy, and law pertaining to the global food and agribusiness system. Articles may be applied or theoretical, but must address an issue relevant to managers or management, and advance the topic through implication and application. Articles focused on a special issue, case studies, industry interviews, and book reviews are also welcome.

The Review is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal published by De Gruyeter Brill, with 5–7 issues per year. Special Issues are published on topical and regional issues throughout the year.

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

My position as the IFAMR Editor-in-Chief began on July 1, 2020. Previously, I've served as an IFAMR Managing Editor since 2017. I am very much honored to serve in this role.

It is exciting to watch the international stature of the journal continue to rise with an Impact Factor of 1.515 according to the 2023 Journal Citation Reports. This reflects on the increased demand for cutting-edge expertise and knowledge in the food and agribusiness areas from academia, industry, and government agencies.

As Qiushi Chair Professor and the International Dean of China Academy for Rural Development (CARD) at Zhejiang University, and also Senior Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), I strive to consolidate our global editorial team and grow our flagship platform as a place for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to publish research and case studies in agribusiness management worldwide, as well as enhance the journal's ability to serve our audiences from emerging markets better.

We live in fast-changing times, but one thing that will not change is the IFAMR’s commitment to serving at the intersection of agribusiness management among academia, industry, and government agencies and our close ties with authors, reviewers, and readers. With a strong international network, recognized academic excellence, and editorial experience, our team of managing editors is key to fortifying our position as a leading international journal in the global food and agribusiness management sector.
