Program Description
Using the food sector as a contextual base; production and distribution as well as retailing, our graduates are attractive to commercial organisations and government departments as well as agencies operating in the UK and overseas.
The course will equip you with the analytical and problem-solving skills required within a business context. You will develop a sound grasp of business management principles and an understanding of how to engage with the food industry in an international context. A great deal of time is spent developing communication and presentation skills which are vital in most work environments.
You will complete a 20-week work placement in the second year of the course, which will strengthen your experience and enhance your attractiveness for employers. You will become savvy with business and management through experience gained during the placement period.
Our graduates have gone on to pursue a wide range of careers within business management internationally. You will have the opportunity to pursue a career in general business in any industry, specialising in marketing, production, finance, and general management, or in the food industry specifically working within international sourcing/trading of food produce, supply chain and production management, and consultancy and advisory positions.
For the duration of the programme you will have associate membership of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Upon graduation, as well as the Royal Agricultural University BSc. (Hons) you will also be awarded a Diploma in Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute.
CMI is the only chartered professional body in the UK dedicated to promoting the highest standards in management and leadership excellence. CMI qualifications are highly regarded by employers and demonstrate the practical skills needed to perform in the workplace.
This degree is also accredited by the Chartered Association of Business Schools.
