Biography
Mirela Rusali has worked with the Institute of Agricultural Economics of The Romanian Academy since 1990. Her main activities include fundamental scientific research, conference papers and consultancy as an expert in projects and research grants funded by EC-PHARE, FAO, World Bank, OECD, in developing support studies for rural and agri-food strategies and policies, including impact assessment of EU accession and CAP adoption in Romania. She has authored over 130 articles, studies and chapters and three books. Dr. Rusali is a member of national and international professional associations and in the editorial board of the journal " Agricultural Economics and Rural Development".
Education
Dr. Rusali graduated from the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest in 1986 and earned a PhD in 2002 in Economics with a dissertation "Rural Economic Development in Romania. Concepts, strategies, and Policies." She attended specialization stages with ASE Bucharest and the University of Toulouse Social Sciences DLV Agriconsult Wageningen and Wye College University in London.
