Sunday, 18 June | FEATURED SHOWCASE: De Mi Tierra Microcredit to agricultural producers In early November 2021, Senior Executive Alejandra Salgado held a meeting with the entire team from the trust area of Grupo Financiero Ficohsa (GFF). The meeting was intended to consider the next steps to take with the De Mi Tierra program—a trust providing access to microcredit to agricultural producers in rural Honduras. The team was expected to submit a diagnosis to redefine a program strategy that addressed the challenges and changes resulting from the global COVID-19 pandemic. Increased efficiency, digitalization-oriented transformation, and tactics to face new entrants were a few of the changes required. Since the program’s inception in 2008, very few changes have been instituted so the Trust team knew it was essential to redirect its strategy in order to adapt to the challenges mentioned above, to maintain and grow the program. | Presenter: Esteban Brenes, Professor, INCAE Business School, Costa Rica |
